I had this place bookmarked for years. Craving some Chinese we drove here for 40 min one way from north port. Entire car ride there I am studying the reviews , menu, and photos of what they’ve got. Place looks LEGIT. We had to stop and do some shopping nearby so I called in an order for pickup. Anyways. We picked up the food, driving home ate the crab rangoons. They were good, definitely above average. Once home, set everything out on the table - we’re missing the general tso’s chicken 😤. And the food just doesn’t look as appetizing as it did in all the great pictures from the google reviews. It was ok. Sort of. The walnut shrimp had a strange gritty like sauce. The beef chow fun (one of my favorite Chinese dishes ever) had no flavor - just tasted like burnt oil 🥴 maybe they left the wok unattended for a little too long, but there was just no flavor at all, the beef was good and tender and the noodles that are apparently home made were not fantastic. My wife said they smelled like someone was smoking a ciggarete while making them, I’m not sure about that 😂I think that the oil got too hot or maybe the wok was too hot and burned some of the dish..? What a gem! I recently moved from Seattle to Sarasota and was thrilled to find a Chinese restaurant with great food and a solid variety of options. The staff was extremely kind, helpful and warm. I was also stunned that the prices were so reasonable! I ordered take out and waited briefly in the lobby while the staff assembled my meal. While I was waiting an incredibly rude customer (I believe the girl Alina S who left a recent 1 star review) was Yelling / Screaming at the staff so loudly that myself and a couple who was also waiting in the lobby for take out looked at each other and addressed how her yelling actually hurt our ears once she left. Service staff deserves to be treated respectfully and the women working in this establishment 100% did not deserve the extreme immature & rude behavior from this customer who clearly doesn’t know how to behave publicly. TEN OUT OF TEN would dine here again! The staff was so kind and patient, even when faced with a yelling maniac who had the nerve to take the extra step of leaving a bad review. The food was excellent, reasonably priced and the portions were generous! I am so happy to support this local business!

We get takeout from Susan and her crew here monthly, and have been since before its changeover from Mak's. I absolutely love the Hong Kong specialties (anything with XO sauce, particularly, such as the XO seafood chow fun), and the salt-and-pepper eggplant is fantastic. My husband loves the General Tso's (either the standalone chicken or Dragon Meets Phoenix with shrimp) and Pad Thai. Recently tried her crab rangoon for the first time and was pleased with the crunch + creaminess of it; we're adding that to our order from now on. Honestly, this is one of very few Asian restaurants at which we eat since I was raised on Northeastern U.S. restaurants and dislike many Florida offerings. The Hong Kong menu here is my go-to now for comfort food.

We’ve ~ Salty fish chicken tofu pot 咸鱼鸡粒豆腐煲 ~ Beef short ribs 黑椒牛仔骨 The pot arrived while still bubbling. I'm impressed, given the clientele is retired Caucasians. The taste is ok, with a hint of sweetness. Despite the name ‘chicken cubes’, the chicken is sliced. The short ribs are fine. The last bite of a green bell pepper tasted weird. When we got there at 5, the place was rather empty. After waiting for a minute, we sat ourselves by the cashier and directed traffic till the place was packed and humming 30 minutes later, and an additional lady in a black dress joined. Two ladies serve the room in red tops; both speak Cantonese. One really looks like a Cantonese. Their take-out is popular too, non-stop. Cantonese pop is playing in the background. We walked the strip mall before heading to the opera. The area is full of bars, restaurants, and more.

Solid authentic Chinese food five-star lunch today. 12 to $13 combo lunches. We had egg roll hot and sour soup wonton soup Hunan pork Szechuan chow Mei fun, in general, tso's. The service was also five star. Everyone in there was attending to all the tables. I am not kidding when I say this, but you could hear other tables ooh and ah and say how delicious the food was. So glad to have found this hidden gem. Don't let the strip mall fool you. Portions were huge. Great value.
